T-shirts
In 2001, my friends and I decided to hold a "friendly" football game right around Thanksgiving. After extensive user research and numerous focus groups (ie, several rounds of beer), we christened it ... "Turkey Bowl" (yes, all that build-up just for that). By 2005, we were still playing every year and decided, "What better way to commemorate the game than to print up t-shirts?"

My involvement with the shirts ran through 2014, when I decided to hand it off to someone else who wanted a crack at it. But through all the pulled hammies, the occasional broken bone, and several irate spouses, the game lives on...

Special thanks to Bryan Dowd for his help with the artwork every year, as well as his interactive/programming expertise on several of the pieces found under the Pharma & biotech tab.

This one's completely unrelated to Turkey Bowl. But since I live in New Haven, I paid a friend to print up 50 of these, and my plan was to sell them. Sometimes I stick to the plan...sometimes I don't. I still have a pile of them. If you'd like one, they can be had on the cheap!

This is our 8th t-shirt, so ideas can be hard to come by. Had to take advantage of the presidential election while it was around!

Color scheme: The USA

Decided to go with a Hef theme and OSU colors in 2011. Why? Not sure. Seemed apropos.

The stylized turkey in the vein of the Playboy bunny is easily my favorite front logo.

As injuries mounted with each subsequent TB, we were wondering in 2010 whether it was time to hang up the cleats. But like excrement on the bottom of your shoe, Turkey Bowl never goes away!

Color scheme: Oakland Raiders

By 2009, I was running out of logo ideas using a turkey, so we returned to the Pilgrims and Indians theme of 2005.

Color scheme: New York Jets

The turkey getting ready to snap the ball in 2008 was a nod to the old New England Patriots logo, aka Pat Patriot.

In retrospect, the font here looks kinda Trekkie.

For TB7, we decided to employ a "turkey striking the Heisman" pose.

Color scheme: Virginia Tech.

The t-shirt that almost killed off the TB t-shirt after just two years! What was originally a good premise just didn't work when it was all said and done. I still like the "there are no winners" tagline.

In theory, the color scheme here was UCLA. In practice, the t-shirt became derisively known as the "calypso tee" for it's aqua and citrus hues. No one wore this t-shirt beginning on 11/20/06.

The original and still my favorite. I like the mustard and brown color scheme, the way the pilgrim and indian are sneering at each other, the whole bit.

Wasn't quite sure what to put on the front, but in time, this format became the template for all subsequent shirts.
